Requires an FAA commercial pilot, airline transport pilot certificate, an FAA mechanics certificate, or an FAA aircraft dispatcher certificate;
Requires at least three (3) years experience in a supervisory position with a 14 CFR Part 121 or Part 135 scheduled air carrier;
In lieu of the above, at least three (3) years experience in U.S. military aviation operations or a supervisory position previously held with a U.S. government department, board, or agency that deals directly with aviation matters may be accepted;
Requires strong knowledge or operations specifications, aviation safety standards, and operating practices, and applicable provisions or Federal Aviation Regulations Parts 1, 91, 119, 121, or 135;
Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a dynamic environment;
Must exercise good judgment;
Travel will be required;
Pass a pre-employment drug test, and criminal history records check (CHRC);
Job description
The Safety Director must meet the requirements of FAA 14 CFR 119.65(a)(1). The individual in this position has the primary responsibility of overseeing the airline’s safe operations for both its employees and members. They will assume a proactive stance in performing their duties and responsibilities and will keep the company informed on a continuous basis of any and all concerns that might affect the safety or security of the airline. The Safety Director is a key safety position, that ensures all Eastern Air Express personnel, process, and procedures, and promote safety, security, quality, and regulatory compliance for all Eastern Air Express operations.
