  • Class 1 or Class 2 Flight Instructor Rating issued by Transport Canada
  • At least 200 hours of instructional experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Flight Instructor in a Flight Training Unit (FTU), preferably with supervisory or leadership responsibilities

Additional requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of Transport Canada Regulations
  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety requirements
  • Working knowledge of Safety Management Systems and Quality Assurance
  • Transport Canada Authorized Person Authority experience
  • Experience with flight scheduling systems, such as Flight Schedule Pro
  • Familiarity with developing or reviewing lesson plans, training materials, and student evaluations

Preferred

  • Post-secondary education in aviation, aviation management, or a related field is considered an asset.
  • Instructional techniques training or adult education certification is an advantage.
  • Experience contributing to or leading aviation safety investigations, reporting, and analysis is preferred.
  • Previous involvement in program development or instructor standardization initiatives is an asset.

Summary

  • $2000 basic pay plus $45 per hour for flight instruction and $25 per hour for ground training and ground briefing.
