Additional requirements
- Required 3-5 years of 121, 135, or 142 aviation experience, preferably within a regulatory or compliance setting
- Competitive candidates will have prior experience within a Pilot Training environment
- Competitive candidates will be quick learners, have experience working directly with top leadership, and be comfortable presenting to groups
- Ability to collaborate with other departments/organizations and obtain executive buy-in
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Must be a team player with excellent crew resource management skills
- Proven leadership, organization and communication skills
- Demonstrate strong planning and organizational skills
- Strong ability to organize, multi-task, and prioritize tasks
- Willing to travel out of town occasionally
- Willingness to work long and sometimes irregular hours
- Subject to pre-employment and random drug testing.
- Must pass a background check.

Job description
Ventura is looking for a full-time Assistant Director of Operations to join our team with the primary task of working directly between Ventura leadership, crewmembers, the FAA, and the authorized training centers to maintain professionalism and the highest training and standards of professionalism. The role ensures that all training programs are in line with the demands of FAA Part 135 requirements and that all record-keeping and regulatory elements are in good order. This role reports directly to the Vice President of Flight operations.
The Assistant Director of Operations is responsible for directing all activities of the companys Flight Standards programs, which includes Flight Operation Policy, Training/Records Oversight, and Check Airman/Standards pilots. The Assistant Director of Operations will work closely with the Chief Pilots and 119 Director of Operations to ensure that training of crewmembers maintains the companys mission of safety above all.
