Additional requirements

5 years’ experience in management at a senior management position in a major international airline is a must.
Must be thoroughly knowledgeable of the operations Manuals and related components.
Management skills, including selection, coaching and counselling team members, evaluating performance, team building, administration and operational planning.
Excellent communication skills (verbal & written), including an ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
Good computer skills and able to work independently to prepare reports to management.
Acceptable to the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority.

Preferred

A holder of a Diploma or equivalent professional qualification is desirable.

Job description

The Head of Flight Operations reports to the Accountable Manager on day-to-day operations and the AOC protocols. The person is responsible for Flight Operations Performance, Control of Flight Operations and the setting and monitoring of Operational Standards for all aircraft operated by the airline. He/She manages and supervises the activities of the department and is responsible for hiring of crew, overseeing flight dispatch, cabin services, crew training, catering and other operational staff as required by the airline. The Head of Flight Operations as a Post Holder must be approved by the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority.
