  • IP III - FAA Certificated Flight Instructor for Airplane Single-Engine Land and Instrument Airplane, and hold at least a Bachelors degree from an accredited institution. Plus have a minimum 750 hours of Dual Flight Instruction Given.
  • IP IV - FAA Certificated Flight Instructor for Airplane Single-Engine Land and Instrument Airplane, and hold at least a Bachelors degree from an accredited institution. Plus have a minimum 1200 hours Dual Flight Instruction Given, and a recommendation from the Chief Flight instructor.
  • IP V - FAA Certificated Flight Instructor/Instrument CFI, CFII, MEI, Airplane Single and Multiengine; Instrument Airplane, Master CFI, 2500 hours** Dual Flight Instruction Given*, and four years cumulative experience as a Certificated Flight Instructor. Master's Degree Required.
  • ** Dual Flight Instruction Given may be any combination of simulator or flight time.** Includes flight time while conducting a practical test as a Training Center Evaluator (TCE).

Additional requirements

  • IP I - FAA Certificated Flight Instructor Airplane Single Engine Land (no degree required).
  • A Bachelor's Degree is required for any full-time employee in the IP-2, IP-3, IP-4, & IP-5 classifications. A Master's Degree is required for the IP-4 and IP-5 classifications. Relevant aviation experience may be substituted for a Master's Degree at the discretion of the University for the IP-4 classification.

Compensation and benefits

Summary

  • Pay Rates Effective 7/1/22:
  • IP I - Starting hourly wage $21.50.
  • IP II - Starting hourly wage $24.18.
  • IP III - Starting hourly wage $28.06.
  • IP IV - Starting hourly wage $33.84.
  • IP V - Starting hourly wage $36.52.
  • Retirement Plan - ERAU offers immediate vesting and provides a 6% gift and will match up to 4% of employee contributions
