The Director of Training (DOT) directly supervises the Assistant Director of Training, classroom and simulator instructors, and other miscellaneous training department personnel. The DOT also indirectly supervises Line Check Airmen in the administration of Line and Proficiency Checks.
Coordinates with the Director of Operations, Chief Pilot, Fleet Captains, and the Director of Flight Following to ensure compliance with all training requirements set for in USA Jet Approved Training Manual
Under the authority of the Director of Operations, schedules, assigns, and documents all required training evolutions set forth in the USA Jet Training Manual
Advises the FAA of scheduled ground, simulator and aircraft training, and check ride events
Coordinates with the Director of Operations, Chief Pilot, Fleet Captains, and the Director of Flight Following on issues relating to compliance, standardization, and continuity of USA Jet approved Training Programs and associated documentation
Maintain and recommend changes to the following manuals to ensure continuity with the USA Jet Training Programs:
- GOM
- AOM
- COM
- Training Manual
Assist the Director of Operations on special projects as required
Maintains currency and proficiency as a classroom Ground Instructor
Certify the completion of all required ground training
Provide recruiting and staffing recommendations to the Director of Operations
Required to ensure that employees under his or her direction are provided the training, tools, and equipment necessary to perform their assigned tasks in the safest possible manner, and within the standards of the Occupational Safety and Health organization with legal authority at the location at which those employees are working
All other duties as assigned
