Minimum requirements
- Commercial Pilots license and minimum flight time of 250 hours preferred but not required
Additional requirements
- A minimum of 10 years experience managing flight operations and crews for a geospatial company or related discipline
- Capable of obtaining permits and overseeing compliance with DC ADIZ and FRZ
- Knowledge of FAA regulations and ensure that the flight department is 100% compliant
- Ability to work closely with sensor manufacturers and software developers
Job description
Implement and maintain the Argus Prism Safety Management System
Day-to-Day Flight Operations & Data Acquisition Business Development
Developing and maintaining budgets and schedules for the flight department
Oversee pilots and sensor operators training programs, technical strategies, and continuous improvement of operations focusing on safety, procedures, quality control, pricing, and solutions to improve performance and maximize efficiency
Oversees aircraft maintenance/airworthiness from both mechanical and documentation aspects, including purchasing and modifications of aircraft and aerial sensors
Developing flight operations emergency preparedness and response plans
Coordinate with Geospatial project managers on data quality and acquisition scheduling
Work closely with Resource Director, Remote Sensing Operations Director, and Corporate Safety Officer
Coordinate with clients on acquisition schedules, data quality control, local airports, FBOs, and restricted airspace
Responsible for workflows, technical strategies, locating and staffing forward base of operations
