- Holds licenses and ratings required to serve as a pilot-in-command
- Has satisfactorily completed the appropriate training phases for the aircraft, including recurrent training, that are required to serve as a pilot-in-command or a flight engineer, as applicable
- Has satisfactorily completed the appropriate proficiency, competency and recency of experience checks that are required to serve as a pilot-in-command
- Holds a Class 1 Medical Certificate
- The LTC will complete successful check ride from right seat and will instruct from the left seat only
- The TRI/TRE will successfully complete check ride from the right seat and will instruct from both pilot seats and the jump seat as required; in accordance with OMD 2.9
