- Minimum 250 hours multi-engine pilot-in-command, PIC time.
- Successful completion of FAA Type Rating in the DHC-8 FW is required before permanent assignment.

- FAA CFI-CFII-MEI.
- FAA ATP rating.
- Previous military FW flight training qualification of civilian equivalent.
- Qualification in the DHC-8.

- High school diploma or GED
- FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit
- Required Completion of a Department of Defense, US Military Safety Officer Training, ground or aviation, or equivalent FAA, NTSB or accredited university training containing at least three of the following Aviation Law, Human Factors, Aviation Safety Program Management, Risk Mitigation, Aircraft Accident Investigators courses.
- Minimum of 3 years direct experience participating in a ground and or aviation safety program.
- Experience in dealing with safety and environmental laws, rules and regulations is required.
- Experience in risk management and hazard mitigation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint Project, and Visio.
- Position requires a U.S. DoD security clearance.
Preferred
- Completion of DOD Aviation Safety Officers Course
