Addition Requirements

  • The successful candidate will be qualified as a pilot for Part 121 operations and must be willing to live and work within one hour of the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport. Other qualifications include:
  • Must have a high school diploma/GED;
  • Must meet the applicable Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) minimums as specified in 14 CFR Part 61 for either an ATP or Restricted ATP (R-ATP);
  • Must have completed the ATP CTP course and completed the written exam completion certificate; a current ATPL is preferred;
  • Must have a valid First Class Medical;
  • Must not have a record of any FAA Certificate Action or Administrative Action within the prior 30 months;
  • Must have a valid unrestricted right to live and work in the US and the ability to in an out of the US, including to Canada;
  • Must be authorized to work in the country without employer sponsorship;
  • Must have a strong safety awareness and the ability to adhere to Safety Management Systems (SMS); knowledge of risk assessment and mitigation is highly desired;
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, including a motor vehicle record check for the previous 36 months, and pre-employment DOT drug screen;
  • Must be comfortable working in an airport environment around odors, substances, and sounds typically associated with operating aircraft.

Job Description

The Ravn Alaska First Officer safely operates Company aircraft according to regulations, as well as established policies and procedures. The First Officer reports to the Chief Pilot and is accountable to the Pilot In Command (PIC) for flight-specific duties. This position is expected to uphold safety while performing flight crew duties and fulfilling the responsibilities expected of a Ravn Alaska employee. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:


Ensuring all work is accomplished in accordance with the Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs) and the Companys manuals;

Maintaining clear and timely communication with all appropriate points of contact involved in flight operations, including alerting the flight's PIC of any actual or suspected deviation from regulations or Company procedures;

Identifying and reporting safety hazards in the work environment or when confronted with an unsafe situation. Promoting a positive Safety Culture with co-workers, following accident prevention procedures, and supporting the organization in compliance with Safety Management System (SMS).


Reinforcing and performing assigned tasks in accordance with the Ravn Alaska Mission;

Participating in Company and department initiatives to provide the highest level of customer service to passengers, and seeking out ways to provide a consistently positive flying experience for community members;

Calmly and professionally handling stressful situations that may arise, relying on training techniques and tools to manage each scenario as appropriate.


Assuming responsibility for tasks at outstations, when appropriately trained, to include fueling, bag handling, cargo handling, and deicing;

Engaging in courteous and respectful interactions with customers, supervisors, co-workers, and business associates and promoting a professional image of the Company while upholding Company values.
