Responsibilities include but are not limited to Initial, Transition, Requalification, and Upgrade B-767 Crew Training.
Manages all B-767 Instructors, and Check Airman when they are conducting training.
Verifies Instructor competence and standardization.
Ensures all training policies and procedures are carried out in accordance with FAA regulations, company policies, and labor agreements.
Maintains professional and effective liaison programs with the following organizations:
All departments within Atlas Air
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
International Air Transport Association (IATA)
Air Mobility Command (AMC)
Boeing Aircraft Company
Airlines for America (A4A)
Other groups/organizations that play a role in developing or conducting B-767 training.
Coordinates FAA approval of B-767 training programs
Develops/writes/edits and is responsible for B-767 portions of the Flight Operations Training Manual and the Training Center Standard Operating Procedures Manual
Develops/writes/edits and coordinates curriculum changes based on approved courseware.
Adjusts the B-767 training program to ensure changes recommended by the Technical Review Board are considered and implemented when necessary.
Works with the B-767 Standards Captain to ensure all B-767 aircraft specific operational publications meet the needs of the Atlas B-767 fleet.
Coordinates the integration of human factors concepts and CRM/TEM into the B-767 training program.
Maintains a safe operation through communication, audits, reviews of training and checking events.
Continuously identifies, evaluates, and implements key metrics to ensure constant compliance and improvement in the B-767 training program.
Identifies and manages day to day B-767 instructor/training issues.
Coordinates procedures with other fleets to ensure consistency, when appropriate
Maintains a relationship with the manufacturers, other airlines, the FAA and A4A, with regards to B-767 aircraft training issues
Coach, mentor and develop direct reports, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities. Monitors performance and takes action to correct any shortfalls
Provides constructive and timely feedback in accordance with the Performance Management Process to all direct reports.
Performs other responsibilities as assigned by the Vice President, Training.
Minimum 20% travel required.
Must have no restrictions on domestic or international travel.
Will require working evenings and weekends and on scheduled company holidays to accommodate the needs of the customers and business operations.
General office conditions and general flight conditions in aircraft
This position is full-time based in Miami (MIA) and is deemed onsite-critical, which requires working in the Company’s Miami office Monday-Friday (except when traveling for Company business). The candidate selected must also reside within regular commuting proximity of the Company’s Miami office. There are no commuting arrangements, per diem, or travel accommodations permitted for this position.
