Job description

Responsible for the safe day-today fleet operation and pilots management including industrial relations aspects of

flight crew.

Manage the day-to day work of the Fleet Operations with due consideration of legal requirements applicable to the companys AOC

Lead all people management elements of Flight Operations delivering a high performing, efficient and motivated pilot workforce

Ensure measures and processes are in place to achieve best practice and a consistent approach to people management across Flight Operations

Manage, coach and motivate the team to deliver a safe, continually improving operation and an exceptional customer service experience

Ensure the harmonisation and standardisation of operational procedures/standards within the fleet

Contribute in the management and development of overall Flight Operations policy & strategy

Manage the consistent improvement of fleet-relevant procedures

Ensure compliance with the airworthiness regulations and directives

Build strong relationships between the safety department and the pilot community

Assist in the production of relevant Flight Operations documentation as required

Maintain continuous communication and close liaison with the relevant authorities and official institutions/other

companies concerning fleet relevant matters

Lead and supervise projects

Work with the management team to ensure the ongoing safe and efficient operation of the fleet

Support the department in meeting the targets for compliance and response times as agreed with the

Nominated Person Flight Operations for the closure of AIR incident reports and investigations

Evaluate and eliminate safety relevant issues/occurrences

Coordinate and produce amendments of Company documentation as required

Lead the fatigue management system of behalf of the Nominated Person Flight Operations

Drive a culture of continuous performance development

Maintain a high level of knowledge of current procedures for pilots

Support the management of training functions and activities within Flight Operations

Build and maintain network of relationships with BA, ensuring best practise and knowledge is shared between the two organisations and that company can leverage BA size and scale where applicable

Take a proactive approach to monitoring and influencing budget control within the department

Ensure an appropriate supply of adequately trained pilots (working with the recruitment, resource planning and network operations teams)

Oversee and devise with subject matter experts the content of new pilot inductions

Support the industrial relationship (to include all negotiations including pay) with BALPA and Unite, owning all applicable agreements and changes to working practices

Deputise for Nominated Person Flight Operations as required
